Its so depressing when the profession you aspire to have is helpless to save the life of people.
Its so depressing to see so many deaths just because of some problems that require psychological help.
I wonder why Psychological Help or Mental illness so stigmatized in our country. It is normal when we have gastric and ask for medication to doctor but why cannot we just approach counselors or psychologist or psychiatrists when we start getting minor psychological problems.
Why so much of negative attitude towards the Mental illness?
I was watching the show ‘’Satyamev Jayata’’ in the youtube this afternoon and was shocked to see the death rate (which said the second highest deaths in India is from Suicide).
Now, by the end of the day, its saddening and shocking to hear the news that said ‘Alok Nembang, the popular film and music video director’, had apparently committed suicide. And when I did little research, i came to know the data that suicide was one of the major reason for the deaths in Nepal.
Then knowing these data, I wonder: Why cannot we come up with ‘Hotline services’’ or ‘’suicidal helpline’’? Why cannot we open more mental and psychological help centers? Why cannot we teach each person to understand the importance of tracking the mental health and work out accordingly?
WHY CANNOT WE JUST STOP STIGMATIZING THE MENTAL OR PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEM???
I strongly believe, if many suicide at-tempters get professional help in time, we donot have to hear such saddening news time and again.
And another fact we should understand is; Suicide is not a thought that comes over-night. It begins way before the actual attempt. If we could pin point the mental anxiety or depression or the psychological condition of such person, we can reduce this consequences in greater extent.
BUT WHY WE JUST IGNORE THE FACT THAT ‘’PSYCHOLOGY AND MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS’’?. Why do we ignore the fact that, we as a family, as a friend and as a society could be responsible for someone ending their life???
‘’You are here for a reason. You are missed and the people in your life depend on you. They depend on your love, your presence, your work, and you being there.’’ ….If we can just make anyone realize this, it will
really be a real help to so many people with suicidal tendency. Even, various medications are there which treats minor and major psychological problems.
But, TILL ANYONE IS NOT WILLING TO VOICE THEIR VOICE ABOUT AND FOR MENTAL ILLNESS OR PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEM, there will be so many such cases of suicide yet coming.
And we cannot do anything except sitting here and reading news of such bad consequences of some people ending their life.
Lets talk about mental health. If you see anyone having such suicidal thoughts, depression…ask them, talk to them, consult the professional and give the help when needed.
Mental Health Matters! And its a serious time to stop STIGMATIZING. Its just a health issues and it can be cured. Just make sure of ‘timely care’.
